Forces > Forces and motion > 3 Dimensional Motions
3-dimensional motions are motions that occur in three dimensions. Depending on the forces acting on the object, they can have constant or varying velocity. They can be described with equations using three spatial variables and one time variable.
Connection to Big Idea about energy: Any object in motion possesses kinetic energy.
Connection to Big Idea about the universe: All objects in the universe perform 3-dimensional motions. 3D motions require the existence of a force. On a macroscopic scale, 3D motions in our universe occur due to the existence of gravity. The Sun’s orbit around the galactic center is an example of a 3D motion.
Connection to Big Idea about particles: All objects in the universe can perform 3-dimensional motions. The microscopic motions of the particles that make up matter (any kind of state) are 3-dimensional motions.

PLATON is a two-year European project launched on September 2016. It aspires to provide teachers and school communities with a coherent teachers’ training framework which will update their current teaching practices. More particularly, PLATON aims to offer an open and innovative training framework to teachers of primary and secondary education which will focus on:
