POLAR STAR: The PLATON Legacy!

POLAR STAR is here!

Are you sad that the PLATON project has come to an end? Do you want more PLATON goodies for your class? Well, you are in luck! The PLATON gang gathers up again and is ready to continue the work started in PLATON! Of course we couldn't simply just wrap things up and call it a day. Thanks to all you PLATON teachers, we know how much potential the PLATON methodology has, so we have decided to continue working on it and take it to the next level.

Thus the core team of PLATON, aka Ellinogermaniki Agogi, NUCLIO, University of Deusto and University of Cyprus has put together a new project and presents to you.... (drum roll)... POLAR STAR!

POLAR STAR is our brand new Erasmus+ project which will run for 3 years (until August 2022). The idea is to continue developing the PLATON methodology for inquiry and interdisciplinary learning and explore opportunities to turn them into a complete STEAM methodology always keeping in line with the progressive approach we started with.

What's more, we decided that we wanted to create for you a set of high engaging activities which you are most unlikely to find anywhere else! Which is why, the POLAR STAR activities (as you might have guessed) focus on Space and Arctic research.

Finally, to make things even better, we have a few new friends to welcome on board in this endeavour! The University of Turku (which is also coordinating the project), the Black Rock Castle Observatory and the Institute of Geophysics of the Polish Academy of Sciences are the three new partners whose expertise is invaluable for POLAR STAR.

So, prepare yourselves for another great adventure and stay tuned for POLAR STAR news!
